Nancy Smith studied art at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, Olivet Nazarene University and then with world renowned artist, Estelle Fedelle, who is best known for her how-to books published by Walter Foster Publications. At Quest Academy, in Palatine, Illinois, Nancy taught art to gifted children for over ten years, but she will tell you she learned just as much from them. Volunteering in the art program at Little City Foundation, a community of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, inspired her even more.

Nancy’s art has been featured in many shows in the Chicagoland area through her affiliation with Northwest Art League. She has written and illustrated two picture books to date, A Turtle on Sunday and The Fisherman. Her co-authored novel, Chasing Symmetry, whose heroine happens to be an art professor, is scheduled for publication in 2016.
