Dina carried a set of basic potter's tools around for 20 years before finally getting the opportunity to take a ceramics class at the local community college. Then she was hooked. What intrigued her most was that working with clay encompassed the four basic elements: Earth – the clay itself, Water – to manipulate the clay, Air – to set the forms, and Fire – to put a finish on each piece.

Dina has been working in clay for 15 years. She quickly makes several basic forms then spends weeks carving, pressing and manipulating the forms into works of art. She currently fires her work in a salt kiln but has used many other firing techniques throughout her journey with clay. Dina is a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo/Vicksburg area.
